In February 2008 Wake played their last ever gig at the Brewery Tap in Peterborough. None of the audience knew it would be the final gig……until they announced near the end of the set that they were splitting up the band. The last song was completed with the obligatory guitar smashing putting a very big full stop to the performance (no chance of an encore) and to the band that many have enjoyed over the years they had been together. I hadn’t had the chance to invite them for an interview before, but I wondered if they would be prepared to talk to me after “the end”. I approached Ben (guitar and lead vox) to see if he and Drew (bass), Dale (drums) and Ross (guitar) would be interested - if infact they were still talking to each other! Fortunately they remain friends and the following chat was recorded on 20th April 2008. I found out about the birth, life and death of a band…….Wakes post mortem and wake.

Again massive apologies for the tardiness of this podcast - it seems a bit odd now trying to find out what Smokescreen wanted from Santa for Christmas! Hope they did get something from their lists! Anyway this was recorded on 18th December 2007….. 3 LOUD tracks TURN UP your volume to maximum and listen. We talked about Dimebag and Dickinson, myspace, BOTB and getting your music heard in far-flung places! Of the four band members Sam Tom and Oli were present so we got to gossip about Dave whilst he was busy at work. Also Smokescreen bought GIFTS - a T-shirt and CD (thanks v much) so note to all prospective podcast bands - they have now set a precedent i want GIFTS!!!!! Check out them out at: www.myspace.com/smokescreenuk http://www.smokescreenweb.co.uk/

I will admit I am completely rubbish - this podcast was recorded back on the 9th December 2007 and I have only now got to putting it out. So FINALLY here is the A Girl Called Kate podcast….On the day I did feel like the crap stand-in teacher who has totally no control over a bunch of unruly students - this lot are irrepressible, full of it and funny! We talked about THE REVOLUTION, kicking sound men and Christ-like followings. Go and see them gigging at a Peterborough venue for the full live force (be careful not to get a kicking) and check out their EP go to: www.myspace.com/agckband FABULOUS FABULOUS!

The four members of Loose Baby Charlotte: Darren, Andrew, Ben and Stace came round for their interview on Wednesday 14th November 2007. We chatted about drums that make you blink, spuds, 90’s Britpop and heaps of other stuff. This weeks bodge - my landline phone ringing away in the background and a couple of forgotten chords! Check out the LBC website: www.myspace.com/loosebabycharlotte This time I had to press the recording buttons as Julian was out - therefore got completely carried away with my responsibility and forgot to take a photo - I will take one at the charity all-dayer at Goodbarn’s Yard on Dec 1st……

Mr Howard Moody joined me on Saturday 3rd November 2007 for a chat and to play some songs in a live acoustic session. We talked about his influences, open mics, co-writing and folk festivals. There was the usual accidental technical hitch with a visitor at the front door! Contact Howard at www.myspace.com/howardmoodymusic

Recorded on Wednesday 29th August at PboMusicPodcasts HQ. Alpha Red are Quinny, Chris and Miles from Peterborough. The band play 3 live acoustic songs and tell me (amongst other things) about tribute acts, gigs, recording, honey and lemon cold remedies and their worst habits! I forgot the biscuits but we did have some tea (sorry guys). Listen out for a siren and a little mini bodge…..Go see the Alpha Red site at: www.myspace.com/alpharedmusic

On Saturday 14th July 2007 Ben, Tom and Neil from Columbian Necktie came round to record their interview and play me some songs from their EP. We drank lots of tea and scoffed chocolate hobnob biscuits. Before the interview I gave them a secret question each…..I was shocked when they gave me their answers! Maybe you will be too? Check out the NEW jingle - can you guess which local musicians are responsible for this piece of rock history?
